Ruby Price in India

Ruby — known as Manik in Hindi and Ratnaraj (King of Gemstones) in Sanskrit — is one of the four precious gemstones and the Navratna gemstone of the Sun (Surya). Ruby is among the rarest natural gemstones in fine quality, and its price in India is determined by four primary factors: colour, clarity, treatment status, and origin. Read More...

Colour: Colour is the single most important price factor in Ruby. The legendary pigeon blood red — a vivid, pure red with a slight blue fluorescence — commands the absolute highest price. Pure red with no orangey or brownish secondary hues is the most desirable. Colour alone can cause price to vary by 10x between otherwise similar stones.

Treatment: Treatment status is critical. Natural unheated Ruby is significantly rarer and more valuable than heat-treated stones. A certificate from IGI, GIA, or IIGJ explicitly confirming "No indications of heating" is mandatory for genuine unheated quality. Heat-treated Ruby — extremely common in the market — is significantly less expensive.

Clarity: Eye-clean Rubies of fine colour are exceptionally rare. Stones with visible inclusions are priced lower but remain acceptable when colour is outstanding.

Origin: Burmese Ruby from Mogok Valley commands the world's highest price per carat for coloured gemstones. Mozambique Ruby offers excellent vivid red colour at more accessible prices.

Price Range at Shubh Gems: Mozambique Ruby (natural unheated): ₹8,000 – ₹35,000 per carat Burmese Ruby (natural unheated): ₹25,000 – ₹1,00,000+ per carat Exceptional Burmese pigeon blood specimens command prices significantly above these ranges.

All Rubies at Shubh Gems are 100% natural and unheated, certified by IGI, GIA, or IIGJ. Over 25 years of trust. Buy Ruby with complete certainty — every stone verified, every certificate genuine.
