How to Wear Pearl (Moti) in Astrology

Pearl should be worn on the Little Finger (Kanishtha) of the working hand. A smaller, naturally lustrous South Sea Pearl of 3 to 4 Ratti in fine quality will always deliver better astrological results than a larger freshwater or dull-lustre Pearl regardless of weight.

Pearl must be purified and energised before wearing for the first time. On a Monday morning, place the Moti ring or pendant in a clean bowl and add Ganga Jal or clean water and raw cow's milk. Pearl should not be exposed to honey, vinegar, or any acidic substances as these can permanently damage its delicate surface. Allow the Pearl to rest in the water and milk mixture for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove, rinse gently with clean water, and dry carefully with a soft cloth. Holding the Pearl in your right hand while facing north or east, chant the Chandra mantra 108 times. Wear the ring or pendant while chanting the 108th time. Handle Pearl gently throughout this entire process.
